Republic of Ireland-based Aqueduct – The Well Water has completed the acquisition of Purely Scottish (Bottlers) Ltd for an undisclosed figure, marking the company’s first overseas acquisition.
Aqueduct – The Well Water originally announced that it had agreed to acquire the operations of Purely Scottish (Bottlers) in 2018, and this transaction has now been finalised.
As a result of the purchase, Aqueduct – The Well Water acquires 84 acres of land in East Lothian, Scotland, as well as several boreholes and the buildings and business of Purely Scottish (Bottlers).
A statement from Aqueduct – The Well Water claims that the acquisition follows a multi-million Euro investment, and provides the company with a direct source of natural alkaline mineral water.
The company claims it has also received planning permission for the erection of a new production hall, offices and a workshop. This will allow the installation of a ‘state-of-the-art’ boxed water production line, which will significantly increase the production capacity of the firm’s bag-in-box solutions for water dispensers.
Kieren McKenna, founder and managing director of Aqueduct – The Well Water, said: “This will be the launchpad for the introduction of the next generation of boxed water dispensers from Aqueduct – the iCooler range.
“These cloud-connected coolers are set to redefine the hygiene standards associated with bottle coolers. They should have special relevance in this Covid-19 world with its laser focus on hygiene.”
